Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) came into existence on 14th of March 1962 and started functioning for holding H.S.S.L.C. Examination (class XI final Examination) of 1962 under an Act known as the Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961 (Assam Act, XXV of 1961). The Assam Secondary Education Act, 1961 came into force with effect from 29th January, 1962 on publication of Notification vide Govt. of Assam Education Department Notification no 159/61/37 dtd. 29/01/1962. It is notable that this Act was passed to provide for the establishment of Board of Secondary Education, to regulate, supervise and develop Secondary Education in the State of Assam. Therefore, the Board is not merely an educational body for conducting examination but it is also empowered to develop curriculum and syllabus, to prepare text books and impart training to teachers of Secondary Schools. Accordingly the Board has been functioning since its inception with full responsibilities and is now reaching in such a position with introduction of new technologies since 1997.

This website platform will provide SEBA family and public visitors with variety of new and improved features., each information, upcoming events announcements will have an exciting channel of communication with our organisation.
